David Browne has been enveloped in music-making for over two decades as a composer, songwriter, arranger/transcriber, performer, and tutor. With a particular focus on tactical form and orchestration alongside engaging melodies in his compositional work, he has written pieces for: orchestra, wind ensemble, various chamber ensembles, and voice. He also frequently creates music for video game and commercial projects. 

Most recently, David has been enveloped in his work as the composer for the game "Harvestville: Song of the Ancestress" set to release in late 2026 (Now available to wishlist on Steam). He is also working on his first commercial album project that will feature 7 original tracks in the styles of funk, soul, R&B, and pop.

He holds a Master in Music Composition from Wichita State University where he studied with Dr. David MacDonald and Bachelor of Commercial Music (Composition Track) from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL where he studied with Dr. Kevin Wilt.

Throughout his 11-year career as a composer, David has collected a menagerie of awards for his compositional work both inside and outside of his graduate studies. He was the winner of the Florida Orchestra's 50th Annual Student Fanfare Competition in 2017 and Holyoke Civic Symphony's 2018 Composition Competition for his piece "Shattered Clock Fanfare". His piece "Night Scene" was the winner of the FAU College of Arts and Letters' 'Music2Art' Competition. The same department awarded him 2nd prize in 2nd Annual Miklós Rózsa Scholarship Competition for Film Scoring earlier that year. More recently, he composed ">>> hypervox('PRIME')" and "Singed Infringers" to help two separate teams win awards during the Berklee alumni hosted Game/Music Jam '24 (Best Soundtrack Award) and Game/Music Jam '25 (Best Soundtrack Award; Audience Award), respectively.

In addition to the Florida Orchestra and Holyoke Civic Symphony's 4 marvelous performances of "Shattered Clock Fanfare", Browne's "Mythos Vol. 1" was performed by the Florida State University Wind Ensemble in early 2020. Wichita State University's New Music Ensemble performed his Pierrot ensemble piece "Haze" in 2021. "Night Scene", "Microscopic Miracles, "A Castle's Keep", "The Grand Lighthouse", and "Children At Play" were all performed by various chamber ensembles at Florida Atlantic University.

David currently resides in Wichita, Kansas and has continued to create new music for indie projects and chamber ensembles. He still enjoys singing, playing trombone, ukulele, electric bass, and compositional work. His scores are continuing to be published and are available for purchase on J.W. Pepper's official website.
